General
The string orchestra consists of 4 main instrument groups: violin, viola, cello, and double bass. There are yearly auditions and tryouts for the string where students either perform for placement within the orchestra groups or sign up to start as a beginner. Auditions and sign up days are held before the start of the school year. The dates will be posted in the orchestra calendar.
We are currently offering 5 orchestra class groups. Beginning Orchestra 1 and 2, Intermediate Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra, and Mastery Orchestra. When auditioning for the orchestra, students are placed based on how well they will be able to perform and learn musical concepts with fellow students within that same group. The level of the group can change per year. With that change, students can be regrouped based on their performance from the previous year.
All string orchestra group perform yearly concerts and Large Group Performance Evaluations (LGPE). Central High School String Orchestra has a reputation for outstanding performances and evaluations. We thrive to push higher and reach all new levels of success!
At the high school level, hard work and dedication is expected of all levels of students. We want to push for our greatest successes at all levels!

Learn More About The Director

As an educator, I plan lessons and techniques to challenge my students to become well rounded individuals. It is one thing to just come into a classroom and talk about music, have performances, and leave. Its another thing to come in and build relationships with your students that encourage them to be the best that they can possibly be inside and outside of the music classroom.
I have collected and developed a wide range of multifunctional lessons that not only target musical skill but also target professional development, team building, and leaderships skills. A classroom should not be so predictable that students know and anticipate every single teaching/learning method. I work to give my students classroom experiences that keep them engaged and at the highest learning levels possible. With my many years of study I have also developed a large number of resources in the form of other educators that have all agreed to come in and offer workshops and additional learning opportunities that will help to grow our amazing string orchestra program.
I have the highest hopes and dreams for our education system and music program. Let's build a new level of success with this awesome orchestra.
